HUNGARIAN WIREHAIRED VIZSLAS

At Ilona Vizslas we strive to produce Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizslas that posses the correct conformation, natural ability, and temperament as well as health.

CONFORMATION: We breed only from Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizslas that meet the breed standard set fourth by the FCI & UKC.  This includes never breeding from dogs that have eliminating faults such as incorrect coat, overshot/undershot bites, etc....or those who simply lack quality.

NATURAL ABILITY: Natural scenting, pointing, retrieving and swimmers...Originally and still used in Europe as a close foot hunting breed of feather and fur, we strive to preserve this trait within the breed.

TEMPERAMENT: We strive to produce Hungarian Wire-Haired Vizslas who, as their standard states, are lively, gentle mannered, demonstrably affectionate and sensitive, with their family, yet are also fearless and possessed of a well-developed protective instinct. 

HEALTH: All of our breeding stock is OFA certified for Hips, Elbows and Cardiac and CERF eye certified. While we understand clear genetic health tests do not 100% guarentee clear offspring, we also understand that as breeders we must do all we can to eliminate these conditions.

With each breeding we are looking to improve on the last generation. Never allowing the fact that this is a young breed with a limited gene pool be far from our minds.

At Ilona Vizslas we do as much as possible to prepare your puppy to grow into a secure, confident adult dog.

All of our puppies are whelped and raised in our home, amongst the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Where they are exposed to children of all ages, adults of many shapes and sizes, our other resident dogs. Before leaving for their new homes they receive age appropriate vaccines and dewormings, as well as being  AVID Micro-chipped which includes a pre-paid  lifetime  membership to PETtrac pet recovery system. We also guarantee in writting the current health and future genetic health of all our puppies.

Our relationship with you and your new puppy does not end at the time of sale. We offer lifetime support and guidance and are always just a phone call away to answer your questions or concerns.

*All pet puppies are sold on limited registration and a spay/neuter contract.

*All prospective show/breeding puppies are sold on co-ownership and contract only.

Contracts are used to protect all involved; the buyer, the breeder and most importantly the puppy itself.
